The Danger of Settling

When having a conversation with God a few months ago, I was expressing how discontent I felt. There were things I wanted that I wasn’t getting and I guess you could say, I boldly let God know it. In His comforting and sweet way, I simply heard back:

“We wouldn’t fully appreciate what we’re waiting for, without having the opportunity to settle along the way.”

I sat there as a tear trickled down my cheek. What wisdom that was. I can’t say I’ve reached a point of being fully content yet. However, it’s something I try to reflect on when I begin to feel antsy about life.

Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best. It might take time, but when you get what you’ve been waiting and praying for, it’ll be so.very.worth it.
